The Tibetan Museum of Medicine and Cultural Heritage houses a collection of tangkha paintings (the world’s largest Tibetan art center) that reveal the world of the ancient and cultural traditions of Tibetan and the Himalayan region. This series extends for 618 meters (1900 feet) in length and 2.5 meters (9 feet) in width. The Tangkha is created in a remarkable setting under the close guidance of the renowned Tibetan painter Tsen-zhi-ra-jie together with other 400 artists from all over the Tibetan communities as well as artists from other nationalities to incorporate the designer’s concepts into the complete making of this artwork.
