The Tibet Fund is hosting 50 Years in Exile: a Celebration of Tibetan Culture to raise awareness about the Tibetan refugee community’s achievements and the impact of Tibetan culture and religion on the global community. This project supports and expands on the 50th anniversary program being organized by the Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala, India. The Dharma Heritage Foundation has been established to support the research and documentation of Buddhist life internationally. The work of the Foundation is being carried out by photographer Don Farber along with specialists in Buddhist studies, anthropology, Asian art history, and journalism. The work is of historic, educational, and artistic benefit and will serve as a legacy for present and future generations in understanding and appreciating the important contributions these cultures have made and are continuing to make in the world. Don Farber is a world-class photographer and has published many photography book. Don has been following and photographing His Holiness the Dalai Lama for the last 30 years. His newest work is on His Holiness the Dalai Lama, published by teNeues Publishers (Germany), is nothing short of a visual biography of perhaps the world’s most famous spiritual leader. Valli spent most of his career as a geographical photographer working for the National Geographic Magazine and The Sunday Times capturing more inaccessible locations in the world on camera. He specializes in mountain scenery and is an expert on the Himalaya Mountains, and in 1999 directed the adventure film Himalaya about survival in the Himalayas starring Thilen Londup which became the first Nepalese film to be nominated for a Best Foreign Film Award at the Oscars.
