Karuna-Shechen is a charitable non-profit association with branches throughout the world. Shechen is an area in eastern Tibet, and karuna means compassion in Sanskrit. We provide education, medical and social services, care of the elderly, and assistance to individuals in need. The Kham Film Project is an association of American and Tibetan filmmakers working together on film and multimedia projects that capture contemporary issues and experiences from inside Tibet. Through collaboration and participation, we aim to improve the quality and diversity of knowledge about Tibet by engaging Tibetans in the filmmaking process.

Nechung Dorje Drayang Ling was established in 1973 by the Venerable Nechung Rinpoche. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has visited and taught here. Visiting Tibetan lamas of all lineages are invited to teach programs at events open to the public.
