Danish Society for Tibetan Culture was founded in 1985 at the initiative of the resident Tibetan lama, Tarab Tulku (d. 2004). Our three main aims: to promote awareness of Tibetan culture, to contribute to the preservation and development of Tibetan culture and, to provide humanitarian aid to the Tibetan people both inside and outside Tibet.
The main purpose of Karmapa Trust is to preserve, protect and encourage buddhism in all it´s aspects as they manifest in the Kagyu tradition. Karmapa Trust establishes centres and arranges seminars, invites lamas and teachers from abroad and publishes magazines and books in Danish translation of buddist texts.
Phendeling means "a place for the benefit of peace and harmony" and it is also name of Lakha Lama's monastery in Batang in Tibet. Center's primary function is to be a place where various Buddhist groups can keep their activities and which may be incurred Buddhist cultural events, this non-sectarian attitude is reflected in the temple room's decor, which is neutral with respect to the various Tibetan-Buddhist schools.
