The next Kalon Tripa’s term will be five years in duration. This will be a crucial period. During this time His Holiness, who is advancing in years, will be turning 81 by the end of the next Kalon Tripa’s term. Given this, the role of the next Prime Minister will prove all the more crucial. The website is launched with objective to bring about a greater measure of choice, by seeking to expand the range and diversity of candidates running for the office of Kalon Tripa.

We are an independent and diverse group of Tibetans comprising of youths, monks and elder Tibetans working to promote political awareness in Tibetan Society. Bringing a better understanding of our exile electoral process as well as becoming an active part of it, is our ultimate goal. This website is also aimed at informing the general Tibetan Diaspora about the coming 'Kalon Tripa' elections. This website is run by a group of Tibetans who strongly feel the importance and significance of the post of Kalon Tripa. We have spent many days and nights discussing the right candidate for this post. We dwelled on many capable candidates and have finally settled on a man who has dedicated his entire life to serve the Exile Tibetan Govt. in almost every department. Liberation Prison Project offers spiritual advice and teachings, as well as books and materials, to people in prison interested in exploring, studying and practicing Buddhism. A Tibetan Buddhist organization and social services project affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, since 1996 the project has supported the Buddhist practice of over 20,000 prisoners

The Project intends to bring as much benefit as possible — spiritually, in education and healthcare, and economically, through the direct and indirect creation of employment opportunities in northern India. Maitreya Project’s social services will include extensive education programs and healthcare of international standard.
