On Sunday July 2, 1989, during the first visit to our country of His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the Fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet, Tibet House Mexico was officially inaugurated and founded by Master Marco Antonio Karam. In an emotional ceremony attended by major figures of the Buddhist world as the Ven. Lundhup Geshe Sopa and Professor Robert Thurman. This Casa Tibet Mexico became the first Tibetan Cultural Embassy in Latin America, starting its activities and programs of study in August 1989 until today. .
