Childhaven International helps financially with a school (120 children) and orphanage in Tibet. In a newsletter mid-2000, we noted that the Tibet orphanage committee was in debt for $20,000. A Child Haven friend donated $9000, and the Ottawa Friends of Tibet donated $1000. The final $10,800 was paid by a long time friend of Child Haven International. The total debt is now repaid. CHOICE — HIV/AIDS Initiative — a non-profit NGO registered under the Societies Registration Act XXV of 1860. Since its inception on April 10, 2007, CHOICE has evolved into a significant community partner in reducing the incidence of HIV infection in Tibetan refugee communities in India. Educational Support Tibet is a non-profit organisation that gives young Tibetan refugees opportunity of two years to get education.

With my personal positive experience, sponsoring two girls through the Tibetan Children's Village, I decided to do more for these Children in exile and for Tibet in general. Hence, the idea to create a website to widen the scope of my search for new sponsors, was born. Maybe this website will encourages you to take up a sponsorship - or you may have a friend and want to tell him/her about the possibility to shine a light on a Tibetan child in need. The LKPY concept was first conceived in 1999 by Lama Zopa, (a Nepalese Lama who travels the world promoting peace), when he learnt of the Columbine High School massacre on the news. As our name suggests, it embraces the education, training and support of young people with the principles of Loving Kindness, which will result in Peaceful Youth. Young people are the next generation, so if you have Peaceful Youth, ultimately you have a peaceful world. Since 1999 LKPY has been organically sprouting into an organisation.

Tibetan Bridge is a non-profit, non-political, educational foundation that aspires to build a community center in the village of Rabshi which is located in Eastern Tibet. Our goal is to give the impoverished children of this region a chance to become well educated and become successful members of their society. This distinctive outreach to an impoverished community is the brainchild of master Tangkha painter, Samten Dakpa, who grew up in Rabshi, and John Bonafede, a New York-based artist and Art Director.
