These are some of the questions posed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by filmmaker and explorer Rick Ray. Ray examines some of the fundamental questions of our time by weaving together observations from his own journeys throughout India and the Middle East, and the wisdom of an extraordinary spiritual leader. This is his story, as told and filmed by Rick Ray during a private visit to his monastery in Dharamsala, India over the course of several months.
The Tibetan Nobel Peace laureate was invited by the Bishop of Iceland, Mr. Karl Sigurbjörnsson, to address the special inter-faith gathering of "Peace and Prayer" held in the Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavík's biggest church. This public inter-faith event attended by representatives of various religious and faiths such as Islam, the Catholic Church of Iceland, the Bahai Community of Iceland, the Russian Orthodox Church of Iceland, etc., was organised especially to coincide with His Holiness' June 1-3 visit to Iceland.
On April 24, 2009 His Holiness the Dalai Lama made an historic fourth visit to the campus of the University of California Santa Barbara, the first visit since an endowed professorship (the XIVth Dalai Lama Chair of Tibetan Buddhism and Cultural Studies) was established in his honor. The Dalai Lama was invited to campus by Prof. José Cabezón, the current holder of the Dalai Lama Chair.
