His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was invited by Seeds of Compassion to Seattle to participate in dialogue with leading educators, researchers and policy makers during the 5-day event from April 11 to 15, 2008.

His holiness the Dalai Lama's 2004 visit to Republic of Kalmykia, Russia for 3 days Nov 29, 30 and Dec 01 of 2004.

The Missing Peace: Artists Consider the Dalai Lama is a multi-media art exhibition that brings together 88 respected artists representing 30 countries. With the full life of the Dalai Lama as inspiration, the intention for this project is to shift the world's attention towards peace.It is the result of a collaboration between the Committee of 100 for Tibet and the Dalai Lama Foundation. We see this project as a unique opportunity to explore the idea of art as an interpretation of, and a catalyst for, peace. Through the artist's work, we also hope to broaden appreciation for the Dalai Lama and the principles he embodies.

Filmed in the Dalai Lama’s residence in Dharamsala, North India, and in the re-built Sera Monastery, the second largest monastery of the old Tibet, this opening part of the Trilogy observes the Dalai Lama in his dual role as political leader and spiritual teacher. In an elegant cinematic style, at one with its subject, the film interweaves this personal portrait with an intimately observed exploration of the ways in which the inner knowledge of Tibetan Buddhist culture is developed in the monasteries, through vigorous debate and solitary meditation, and communicated in to the lay community.

On September 27 & 29, 2009, His Holiness the Dalai Lama participated in a global peace summit that brought five Nobel Laureates and many more world-renowned thinkers and leaders in social transformation to Vancouver to talk about creating a more compassionate, peaceful world. The Dalai Lama Center's founding director Victor Chan has called the event "unprecedented" and "historic".
