Mindrolling
Official monastic seat of Mindrolling in exile was set up in 1976 by H. E. the XIth Mindrolling Trichen. The monastery is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in Dehra Dun in North India, Mindrolling Monastery has expanded steadily to become one of the largest Buddhist centers in existence today. All the great masters of Tibetan Buddhism, and especially all the teachers of the Nyingma lineage consider Mindrolling to be an inspiring example of the practice of the pure and profound Dharma of Vajrayana Buddhism.

Located near the hill town of Dehra Dun in Uttaranchal state, India, Mindrolling is one of the largest Buddhist centers in existence today. Mindrolling in Tibet was first established in 1676 in the Drachi Valley by Terdag Lingpa where it flourished until the 1959 Tibetan uprising against the Communist Chinese when many great masters fled from Tibet to India.

Kopan Monastery
Kopan Monastery had its beginnings in the Solu-khumbu region of the Himalayan mountains. In 1971 Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the reincarnation of the Lawudo Lama, a yogi of the tiny hamlet of Lawudo, fulfilled the promise of the previous Lawudo Lama to start a monastic school for the local children. The school was called called it Mount Everest Center.
