Ananda Buddhist Centre began life as The Meditation Society of Central Queensland in 1998, which was established by Laurence Khantipalo Mills of Bodhi Citta Buddhist Centre in Cairns, QLD as a result of his visit to Rockhampton. Our new name reflects our commitment to presenting a variety of Buddhist meditation practices for the community in Central Queensland.
Chöling (tibetisch: Ort der Lehre) ist eine 1994 gegründete Gemeinschaft von Buddhisten, die als Nicht-Ordinierte den Buddhaweg praktizieren. Die Lehre des Buddha ist über viele verschiedene Wege zu uns gelangt. Deshalb leuchtet sie heute in unterschiedlichen Schattierungen und "Farben". Chöling ist offen für diese Vielfalt und lebt aus dem Bewusstsein der Einheit, die in der Vielfältigkeit ihren Ausdruck findet. Dass die Mitglieder sich an je unterschiedlichen Lehrtraditionen orientieren, stellt eine Bereicherung für die ganze Gemeinschaft dar.
Dechen is an international association of centres of the Sakya and Karma Kagyu traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Jampa Thaye is the spiritual director of the Dechen community and Karma Thinley Rinpoche is the grand master.
Ewam Choden was established to provide an opportunity for the practiceand study of Tibetan Buddhism and culture. The word ‘Ewam’ signifies the integration and union of method and wisdom, compassion and voidness. ’Choden’ means to possess the Dharma. (chö means the Buddha Dharma).
