Pema Ts'al is a young Monastery near the Annapurna Range of the himalayan mountains. It is situated near Pokhara, Nepal. It is a nonprofit education project for the people of Mustang, who are ethnic Tibetans and whos children have lots of hardship during their childhood with lack of education. Included in this education project are also Tibetan refugees from India and Nepal.

According to Tsunda Monastery‘s historical records, during the year 1274 A.D., one of Sakya Founding Masters, Chogyal Phagpa did visited the monastery and conduct Dharma Propagation as well as presenting a Tara image “Topazi”, an auspicious cup, musical instrument and Dharma text including bestowing the Monastery Abbot Thegchen Rinpoche (Ngawang Thegchen Chokyi Nyima ) the title and honourship to wear the Vajra Hat with golden embroidery. Chogyal Phagpa especially brought from Main Sakya Monastery a set of Dharma Text as gift for Tsunda Monastery.

Sakya Wara monastery is famous in Tibet, for the place of peacock (auspicious bird in Tibetan Tantra) spread its tail and the Wara River goes around here as twins golden fish. The great Founder Guru Chogyal Phagpa had turned wheel of Dharma here and left the statue of Protector Gampo with knife and other precious gems. It is one of the main monastery of Sakya lineage. It was belonged to White Bon Religion and transformed into Sakya Tradition by Chogyal Phagpa, who bestowed several supreme Buddha status and guardian statues here.It had been the ancestral monastery of Dege Jarbo.
