Jinpa is a small charity working in the remote area, West Nangchen, Qinghai Province of what was once Eastern Tibet. The area is just over the border from Riwoche in the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Jinpa was founded by a monk Tashi Tsering (co-ordinator) and friends to help to relieve some of the suffering in this area. It is just a drop in the bucket of a very big problem. The poverty, misery and suffering of Tibetan Nomadic people of West Nangchen is completely overwhelming.
At the heart of the work that Joru Foundation does is the belief that all people have something to offer the world. The problem is that many people face hardships and do not have access to the resources they need in order to realize their potential. We believe that education is the most crucial tool that one must be equipped with in order to be able to thrive and accomplish their goals. Our work focuses on a school in the Golok region called Sengdruk Taktse School.

The Jamtse Tsokpa Foundation, Association of Compassion, was founded in July of 1997. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Tibetan refugees who have fled their native land in view of the ever growing oppression in their lives since the People’s Republic of China’s invasion and occupation of Tibet which began in 1949. It is our hope that through linking those in need with those willing to give we are not only helping to sustain the survival of individuals and their culture, but give life.
