Plateau Engage at Columbia University commits to the principles of the Charter for Engagement in the Future of Tibet through creating new forums for thoughtful discussion on Tibetan issues at Columbia University and in the greater New York community. By organizing events and initiatives to promote critical engagement with Tibet, we strengthen capacity, knowledge and experience among Tibetans, especially on the Tibetan Plateau. We build bridges by developing new partnerships and collaborations to address challenges facing Tibetan communities. With this collective vision, Plateau Engage works towards meaningful and transformative change for the future of Tibet.
Pema Rinzin, master Tibetan thangka painter and contemporary artist. Since completing a traditional period of study with Kalsang Oshoe, his work has been exhibited internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections, most notably by H.H. the Dalai Lama, the Rubin Museum of Art and the Shoko-ji Cultural Research Institute. Pema Rinzin’s depth of knowledge and personal mastery of Himalayan art- with its rarely practiced preparation and application of traditional stone ground pigments- is widely recognized by institutions and individual scholars as a rare and exceptional set of skills. Rinzin is also regarded as one of the world’s experts on the individual historical masters of Himalayan art.

This website is maintained by a group of Tibetan volunteers from diverse background working together towards educating the Tibetan masses on the Kalon Tripa Election of 2011. The group consists of both young and old Tibetans who have experiences of serving the Tibetan community in various capacities for many years. Upon countless debates and exchange of opinions, the group formed an overwhelming decision that Mr. Godruk Kalsang Phuntsok is the right candidate to steer our Tibetan movement toward the right direction.
