Amchok Gompo Dhondup Is a very well known TibetanArtist who’s mission is to introduce his Tibetan Culture to the world through his music. He has performed all over the world in places such as Russia, Switzerland and the in Tibet, India. Nepal, Holland, France. Lyric and content convey a feeling of peace and inspiring meditative thoughts. He has collaborated with various artist throughout his career, one of which isfamous Grammy-nominated artist Nawang Khechog who also spreads the Tibetan culture through his own work. Tsering Purtag, a Swiss born Tibetan, started playing guitar at the age of thirteen. After playing with bands like “Torkil”, “Rim of Ruin” and “Roadfever”, he formed a rock trio with his two brothers, named simply “Purtag”. Their first album, "greetings from the roof of the world", was well received by the international press, and particularly Tsering’s guitar work, then influenced mainly by the likes of Van Halen, Malmsteen and Hendrix, got a lot of praise. In order to promote that record, Purtag played gigs all over Europe.
Techung is a Tibetan folk and freedom singer/songwriter living in exile in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is best known for his performances of traditional Tibetan music, dance, and opera under the name Tashi Dhondup Sharzur. He uses his childhood nickname, Techung, when performing as a solo artist. Whether performing in traditional or contemporary styles, Techung's dual goals are to revive Tibetan music in the Tibetan community and to expose the rich performing cultural tradition of his homeland to the world community.
Gonpo Tenzin was born in 1955 in southern Tibet near Lhodrak historic center of cultural exchanges between Tibet and India. He learns and interprets the opera - Lhamo Cham (Dance monastery) songs and dances of many classical and popular regions. He graduated in 1978 the status of instructor and teaches all aspects of traditional performances involved for over twenty years touring the world as an artist TIPA Institute confirmed. In 1990 Tenzin decided to come live in France and he continues his solo career.
Tshering WANGDU was born in 1970 in Kalimpong (near Darjeeling), India, where his parents moved after fleeing their homeland in Tibet’s North-eastern Amdo region following the Chinese invasion of Tibet in the early 1950's. In 1994, Tshering and some other alumni of the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Cultural Institute school decided to create a traditional art ensemble, thereby creating the Gangjong Doeghar, or "Snow Land Performing Arts" ensemble, whose main aim was to continue studying melodies from the “Roof of the World”, and to perform traditional Tibetan dances, music and songs.
Tenzin Choegyal's voice and musical talents are uniquely beautiful as he draws on his traditional Tibetan roots to create his original and authentic musical compositions which expresses his devotions to his roots.
